There isn’t a better way to deal with body hair than laser hair removal. Even for men. And we’re here to prove it.
How Does Laser Hair Removalf or Men Work?
Not quite the colorful lasers in Star Wars, a controlled beam of light is used to destroy hair follicles.
Eventually the follicle dies and hair ceases to ever grow back in that area.
What’s the Use for Laser Hair Removal?
This treatment works wonders for athletes as too much hair results in chafing and irritation.
But you don’t have to be a professional athlete or even particularly athletic to benefit from laser hair removal.
Excess body hair is a hassle to keep up with, especially on the back and chest. These are the two most popularly treated areas—with good reason!
Some unpleasant ingrown hairs around the beard area that causes inflamed and red bumps can be cleaned up with laser hair removal.
As can the top of the dome. Don’t put up with sporadic balding when you can pull the plug altogether (including bad hair plugs).
Does Laser Hair Removal Hurt?
As most patients at Cosmetic Lounge will tell you, laser hair removal hurts no more than a rubber band snap.
How Long Does Laser Hair Removal for Men Take?
Generally speaking, even the largest area like the back can be treated in 30-to-45 minutes.
The chest won’t be more than 20 minutes.
To find out specific time frames for areas you’re interested in simply schedule a consultation.
How Many Laser Hair Removal Sessions Do I Need?
The goal is somewhere between 50 to 85 percent of permanent hair reduction.
To achieve that, large areas like the back or chest take about six-eight sessions, spaced out between six-to-eight weeks apart.
What’s Next?
Shave. Go ahead and shave the targeted area before heading in for treatment. The shorter the hair follicles are, the easier time the laser has of destroying the follicle at its root.
Avoid the Sun. Simply, the laser works best when there is a sharp contrast between the skin and darker hair as it makes it easier to target the follicle. Tanning works against this procedure.
Skip the Gym. You’ll be a far more efficient athlete for this treatment. But after the undergoing laser hair removal, give it two whole days before breaking a major sweat. A drastic increase in heat can cause swelling and discomfort.
